Smudge Eats hit us up and wrote some lovely things as well….

“With fare that could easily be found in the kitchens of a fine dining CBD restaurant for just a fraction of the price, a down to earth culture and an ambience that feels like dinner at a mate’s place, Out of Sundaland is paving the way for casual dining with top tier food. Led by passionate owners and chefs who put their heart and soul into providing an experience worth remembering, be sure to give them a wave as they welcome you when you arrive, bid you farewell when you leave and make sure you are well and truly satisfied in between.”

The City Lane Review

“Out Of Sundaland has come onto the scene seemingly from nowhere and is kicking goals already, giving punters a very good reason to visit this part of town. If there’s such a thing as inauthentic authenticity, this is it. Get on it before the world gets out – if Out of Sundaland was in the CBD or had the marketing budget of a Chris Lucas restaurant, there would be lines every night. It’s not often we love every single thing we order, and with food this good, and owners this passionate, we won’t be surprised if there are lines when the weather warms up.”

We use Signature Oysters farmed fresh and delivered straight from the farmer. A little more information about them…

“We have recruited some of Australia’s best oyster farmers from all regions to supply restaurants and retailers with a regionally diverse range of top quality oysters. Signature Oysters places great emphasis on the provenance of the product. We use the Royal Agriculture Society oyster judging standards to benchmark quality and ensure we build a network of farmers renowned for exceptional quality… Our farmer community is central to what we do and why we exist because we believe by supporting farmers, we can provide the highest quality oysters direct to you.”

We’re using the same oysters as some of Melbourne’s elite restaurants such as Rockpool, Pei Modern & Cumulus Inc. They change weekly so make sure you check our Facebook or Instagram to see what’s on each week.

At $3 each during Happy Hour, or 4 for $10, they’re the best and cheapest oysters you’ll get Northside. Bundled with $5 pots, $10 pints of craft beer and $9 glasses of prosecco, this is the perfect end to any day or the best way to start a night out.
